Gomez Bueno
Solo show featuring a video collaboration with Raymond Pettibon
The work of Gómez Bueno follows the complex and ironic legacy of Pop Art, particularly the strand with the most social implications. Gómez Bueno is a sharpshooter from a space of freedom who arrogates the right to appropriate any icon. He digs into the limits of social structuring and the possibilities of transgressing them: the limits of alienation created by the media, religion, film and advertising. Championed by Ramond Pettibon, Gomex Bueno is featured in an article written by Pettibon in Juxtapoz Magazine, August, 2006.

*Opening Reception Saturday, June 23, from 6:30-8:30 pm
Show runs June 23 – July 21, 2007

Eric Orr (1939 - 1998) Survey of works
September 8 – October 4, 2007
Eric Orr (1939 - 1998) is considered a pioneer of the California Light and Space Movement in the late 1960s. His importance has been overlooked, but for those that were in Los Angeles during his great years of productivity, you will be well aware of his immense contribution to the L.A. art scene, both in his spiritual search and aesthetic approach. Eric Orr was a sculptor and installation artist who experimented with materials such as lead, blood, and bone. His works have been exhibited in numerous shows across the country and are housed in collections including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum and the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, and the San Francisco Museum of Art. ROBERT BERMAN GALLERY is proud to hold a survey of Eric Orr’s early works and drawings, ephemera and photos showing Orr’s Venice years, as well as room installations. A catalogue will be available and a special documentary will be shown by Eric’s daughter Elizabeth Orr.
